BUTTERCUP The third of our three cottages round a courtyard, this sunny, airy cottage certainly has the "wow" factor. Everyone who arrives to stay in Buttercup exclaims at how lovely it is. We have decorated it in shades of yellow, going from a deep golden yellow in the kitchen through to a middle shade in the sitting room, to a pale primrose with a deeper yellow in the vaulted ceiling in the first bedroom. The exposed beams in both this bedroom and the sitting room really work well with the paintwork. The sitting room has lovely puffy sofas, soft wall lights together with additional lighting for reading, sewing etc. Audio and visual systems are the same as the other two courtyard cottages, and again, there is plenty of reading matter, games and puzzles should the weather keep you in. The dining table is between the kitchen and sitting room area. The kitchen, just off the sitting room, is fully equipped and a real joy to work in should you wish to cook while you are staying here. The first bedroom has double/twin beds, chest of drawers and wardrobe. These last two items, along with bedside cabinets in all the cottages, are made by a local craftsman. On the high wall behind the bed hangs one of Margaret’s quilted wall hangings, this one called "How does your garden grow?", echoes her love of gardening. There are other examples of her work throughout the four cottages, along with paintings and photographs by local artists. The second bedroom also sleeps two in either double or single beds. The bathroom has a bath with shower over, along with basin and toilet. For those who find getting into a bath difficult we have a special seat which fits across the bath to let you sit under the shower. All towels are supplied for your stay. |
