BERTIE

Bertie sits on its own at the bottom of our garden. It has its own little garden with garden furniture, and this opens into our garden, so guests can wander up the path to sit by the pond or under a tree to enjoy the peace and quiet.

Although all the cottages have wide doors to allow access by wheelchairs, Bertie was converted with disabled particularly in mind. It sleeps four people in two rooms, but with one room there is an en suite shower, wash basin and toilet and next to the second bedroom there is a wet room for people whose mobility is such that they cannot manage a bath. There are grab rails in the shower and by the toilet, but we also have a perch stool and high-rise toilet seat with handles if required.

The sitting room/kitchen is really lovely, with vaulted ceiling and French windows with beautifully draped curtains opening into the garden, which is a favourite place for guests to either eat breakfast or to sit with a glass of wine and a book.

As with the other cottages, this one has a fully equipped kitchen, TV, video, radio and CD player.

Rates range from £320 - £475 per week
inclusive of heat, light, linen and towels.
